Owner/designers Michael and Alison Brewer renovated their classic New England farm style cottage in South Harbor, Maine and made the most of its relatively modest 1,200 square feet through their clever mix of materials and textures,an efficient arrangement in each room, and by adjoining an existing storage shed to the cottage to be used as the home’s master bedroom. An attached screened porch provides an additional 250 square feet of living area.
Take a peek! I think you’ll love it!
What a wonderful New England Cottage!
I AM IN LOVE WITH ALL OF IT!
The drafting table is an excellent use of space…it can be used for food prep and also be a gathering place to enjoy morning coffee!
A wonderful living area…love the use of mixed materials like the kitchen…a wonderful mix of light and dark as well as plenty of levels of texture!
This was once a closet and is now a warm and inviting dining area for entertaining…there’s a window seat under the generous bank of windows and I love the clear chairs…so that it doesn’t detract from viewing the rest of the room!
I love the stairway! The antique chest is used to store additional bedding!
Living room is utilized as an office space as well…love that table with the white knob and the granite fireplace was added to provide warmth and coziness for those long, cold Maine winters!
In an effort to utilize every bit of space, a converted storage unit on the property was attached to the main house and transformed into a master bedroom!
The second bedroom features built-in bunk beds and is designed in a way that makes it look both rustic and modern!
A tiny guest room (only 10 feet wide) with spectacular views…
The screened porch provides a wonderful outdoor living space!
Great job Brewer Family…Michael, Alison, Grayson, and Mary Wade!
