Ran into this wonderful bungalow renovation by Laurel of SoPo Cottage. As you can see by visiting her home renovation blog, she has a passion for restoring old homes. She started with her own and now is turning her passion into a business! Who was it that said, “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”?
This 1920s bungalow is located in South Portland, Maine was once a 2 bedroom, one bath house but now the attic has been refinished adding two more bedrooms and a bath upstairs; including the master bedroom with great views of the Portland skyline.
It looks like the bungalow was sold in August of this year and is listed on airbnb for rent!
Take a peek!
Part of the sunporch was converted to a cozy office space
What an awesome place to work!
Nice open living area and I love the staircase!
A clear view into dining area and kitchen! The floors are gorgeous!
The stairs used to be hidden behind a door that entered into the dining room
Great fireplace! A cozy area to snuggle by the fire!
The kitchen BEFORE…three doorways and awkward flow
The kitchen AFTER…light, clean, open…they even salvaged the vintage kitchen sink!
Love the pantry door…what a nice touch…island top is salvaged wood
Great flow now!
The second floor was unfinished attic space
They added a dormer and turned the space into a large master bedroom with great views!
Love the bathroom!
Wonderful soaker tub…love the feature wall behind it made of reclaimed wood from their dormer project
Wonderful! It has a great spa feel!
Front bedroom with great angles!
Great little alcove with a desk right under the skylight! Looks like a space where the “Great American Novel” could be born!
Love the exposed brick!
The downstairs bedroom had painted floors…now restored to former glory!
Love, love, love!
A place for dreaming…mmmmm
Just so lovely!
